Welcome to the Australian home of the Hippy Hippy Snap! A trim, hip snapping nappy. With the slim line look, and no wing droop of a side snap, but without the fight trying to get it on baby! The HHS fastens towards the front like a front fastening nappy.

I am a licensed Hippy Hippy Snap seamstress. This pattern has been tried, tested and loved by hundreds of babies... go on, why don't you give one a go?

Email me at pam@ ikiscloth.com.au (no spaces) for custom orders.

I am also an approved Fattycakes seamstress!

Success and some questions...

All in all it was a successful first stocking! There were no great dramas - some postal calculator issues (which were my fault as I'd entered weights incorrectly) and an admin email address issue (please send emails to pam@ ikiscloth.com.au)... but I was pleased with how it all went! Nearly all packages have now been sent out. I'd love some more action shots for the gallery and reviews *hint hint*. There are still some pocket nappies left... This gorgeous paisley medium hippy hippy snap is one that I thought would be snapped up. It's a shame it's not a large or I'd keep it for my daughter! Pockets seem to be a little out of vogue, with AI2's being more popular, however pockets are all I use. They make nappy changes easier and messy poo clean ups a breeze.

I am also working on the details for a new, budget friendly product line - and would love your input! I want to know if you would prefer stay dry topped (suedecloth) or bamboo velour topped boosters on a OSFM all in two system. You can vote on the ikis cloth facebook fanpage here http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=142672&id=162405358315&ref=mf or just put your thoughts in the comments section under this post.

The website is live!

Check it out...

Almost all stock is previewing and will go live on Thursday, 28th January at 8pm NSW time.

It's been so fun sewing up this stock, hopefully there is something there that tickles your fancy.

Please let me know what you think of the site - the good, the bad and the ugly ;) I always welcome constructive criticism!

Owls and Cows

For Susan. Medium fattycakes pocket in cows poly PUL. Has a lovely stretch and is nice and soft!

A gorgeous large Hippy Hippy Snap pocket, with minky inner. Totally lush! There will be one exactly like this at the stocking as well, and a medium AI2 with white microchamois inner.

What a silly sausage

I just had a lovely late night chuckle at Sausage Mama's naming and description of her new cloth pads. She certainly has brought out the personality of each pad!

You know what, I DO actually snort when I laugh. It has to be over something very funny though... or not :/

Congratulations to our comp winner!

Remeber the ikis cloth facebook fanpage competition? Here is the custom order that Alisha came up with. A medium fattycakes with crazy dot minky outer, lime microchamois inner pocket.

I'll use this opportunity to showcase the ikis cloth pocket opening style. Ikis cloth pockets use a modifed welt sytyle opening. It is wide enough to get your hand and insert in comfortably, but not gapey. It is high enough in the back that it won't be right on the 'poo zone', and the modified welt style protects the opening from any poo finding its way inside the pocket. It has an inner flap that is sewn down to keep the insert tucked inside the pocket.

There are two types of pocket inserts available. The insert that comes standard with pockets is a 2 layer bamboo trifold, creating six thirsty layers when folded. The contoured insert is available as an upgrade, and is for those who don't like folding trifolds, want a trimmer nappy and don't mind a little extra drying time. The contour consists of two flaps with three layers of bamboo fleece in each, triple stitched together at the top. Each flap is quilted for trimness and to help it keep its shape.

The ikis mini booster is available as an added extra, and is a three layer contour. This clever booster snaps onto the pocket and All in Two inserts, to prevent it moving around and make changes easier. It is contoured to provide more absorbency where you need it - towards the front for boys, or twist it around for girls or back sleeping babies.

Sausage mama, make some room in your draw...

Because you have some mama pads coming your way!

Four kiki petite liners... I reached the upload limit for this post, so couldn't post the tops of these lovely liners - but the pictures are on the facebook fanpage.

Six kiki regular pads. My favourite is the far right one, with the sushi menu print. There is something that makes me giggle about the though of having sushi in my undies ;)

Six kiki post partum/nights. I <3>

Hippy hippy snap heaven

Five medium long Hippy Hippy Snaps (this is not a size I will be stocking, but can make for custom orders).

The butterfly poly PUL is a pocket nappy, and the others are AI2's. My poor 22 month old DD has such a boring stash - I had to rescue the elephant poly PUL nappy from her, as she had a huge tantrum wanting to be changed into it after I'd finished it! I've added one into the stock sewing just for her <3

Please excuse the sloppy positioning of the nappies - Hippy Hippy Snap AI2's are hard to position nicely for photographs, but they are an awesome fit (and not wonky like they look in the pictures, I swear!).

Ikis update and some post partum pads

Look at my poor neglected blog! By the looks of it, you'd think that nothing has been happening here at ikis cloth! That is far from the truth!

Amongst taking a short break over the silly season, I have been kept busy with custom orders, and sewing newborn Fattycakes for my SIL and friends. I have also been busy starting production of stock for the ikis cloth webstore's grand opening. It's all steam ahead for the opening in the first week of February. It's so fun picking different colour combinations! Hopefully there is something there to please everyone.

The best place to be born...

I am so sad that the photo didn't turn out.., oh well, hopefully we get a cute NB modelling shot in a few days!! ;)

Look at those teeny tiny leg holes.. perfect for scrawny NB chicken legs, and full bottom coverage to contain those lovely breastfed poos (or number 3's, lol).

Another big sis, lil' sis set

Two gorgeous fattycakes - small and medium. So sweet!

A new product in the ikis cloth range!

Tear drop shaped breast pads! These nursing pads are contoured, to help them stay in place, and make them almost invisible under your clothing! Now the leaky breastfeeding mumma can wear form fitting tops again, without the tell-tale breast pad 'halo'. The teardrop shape also means they are more absorbent!

I am going to give away one free set of breast pads to the person who comes up with the best (either most entertaining or most catchy) name for these breast pads. Comment away! Winner will be chosen in two weeks.

Cloth pad rainbow

Well, sort of! This is part 1 of a cloth pad order. These are post partum pads made with the Kiki pads pattern.

These will catch any night time flow or post partum flow - they are very generous in the front and back coverage, but with a nice contoured shape for comfort. They measure 32cm in length!

Hoot hoot, cluck cluck

This cute little set is a gift for my lovely friend Nicky. Those that know me, know that I am addicted to sewing patterns - well, napppy patterns to be exact- and I get bored of sewing the same things! For this reason I didn't make her a NB Hippy Hippy Snap or Fattycakes (although I have some ideas in the works!) This little newborn nappy was made from the Chloe Toes Pattern. I really love it for the smaller sizes - it's so fast to sew, has really clean lines and a fantastic fit - a little belly scoop that is lightly elasticised, higher in the back (great for preventing nb poo blowouts) and the front snaps are angled to give a great fit at the legs at any snap setting.

This was the last of my blue owl fabric :( I just love it.. although I do have some scraps I'll be giving to Nicky so she can make a gorgeous small nicnap to match the singlet!

Hoot Hoot: the fabric
Cluck Cluck: me at the teeny tiny cuteness of the little nappy.

Jumping on the Facebook fan page bandwagon...

I finally managed to figure out how to set up a fan page on Facebook! I published it on Sunday, and by Wednesday had 150 fans! Yay for social networking!

So, if you haven't already, fan me on facebook. There will be speciual offers, sneak peaks and more only available to facebook fans, so if you 'do' facebook, fan me and suggest the ikis cloth page to friends!

Okay, I must go finish some cutting and sewing - it's my SIL's baby shower on Saturday and I have to get a bunch of nappies finished to give her! I am so excited, she's decided to use cloth this time round, and is having a little girl, so I get to make all girly fluff and will have a nb in a few months that I can test out new designs on in the flesh! *cluck cluck*

4 Little Fattycakes

4 Little Fattycakes! One medium All in Two (top right), two medium pockets (brown and black) and a small All in Two (zebra).

I am so sad that I couldn't get a decent photo of these, they look lovely in person! My poor, poor camera fell victim to my two year old and sweet and sour sauce :( I have asked santa for a new camera (and sewing machine) for Christmas, so we'll see if I've been naughty or nice!

For Lisa

My camera has sadly died, so these photographs have been taken with my mobile phone!

My favourite from this lot would have to be the huckleberry minky with orange microfleece inner. It looks awesome!

Medium All in Two (second) available

A cute medium Hippy Hippy Snap Ai2. This one is a second due to slightly misaligned wing snaps (if you look at the picture you can see) and slightly misshapen front panel (which is not really that noticeable and not noticeable when the nappy is on). Ikis Cloth seconds are identifiable by not having a size tag.

This has a yellow microfleece inner, and the booster is overlocked with pink variegated wooly nylon. $25 (normally $31).

For Kona

Two large Hippy Hippy Snaps, in sorbet minky PUL, with pale pink microchamois inners, boosters overlocked with variegated wooly nylon.

So soft!
